SDKFZ 11 3d print

Did a Sdkfz 11 on the 3d printer. It looks OK when you add a drivers head, spare petrol cans, a passenger, mg 34 in front passenger side and a wooden box.

It amazing how compact the 11 is.

It's a great little addition to the German armoury. ..

Russian Factory , Power Plant

So we decide to add on the power station to the factory (see factory at Targe Show  page). This will allow us to place the generators and boilers into the separate area. More like the original.

So we purchased a plastic injection kit... but again we decided to upgrade it, and make it larger.  We removed the Base and replaced it with mdf. Ensuring it overlapped to give us a pavement. The mdf is about 30 inches x 18 inches.

We covered it with concrete paper in order to blend with the main factory.

We the set to work on the walls. We cut out the windows and excess mould.
As we wanted the building to fold flat we placed magnetic strips on all the corner's.

Then covered the wall in brick paper and weathered  them. We
also re enforced the pillars with balsa.

The pillars were also covered in concert paper and walls with brick paper.

We then used a corrugated iron paper (its a picture repeated and printed) to make the roof.
See other post on making of the corrugated sheet.

So this some near finished photos...

We also made some more boilers for the outside.

So it's now looking the part...

Can't wait to see it on the mat... see other posts.

Stalingrad 28mm corrigated iron sheets.

So we are preparing for Carronade at Falkirk 2019.

28mm Stalingrad

We will be showing our Stalingrad factory. But we thought our factory needed some more detail because the roof was gone (to allow acces) but we had no roof debris. So we had a look at some of the materials available... A4 plastic sheet is good but expensive, plus it would need to be cut up. So in the end we came up with this idea...

Build for Stalingrad...

MAKING CORRIGATED IRON SHEET.

We photographed some sheets then sized them to 28mm. We then copied them. Then kept copying until we had a large sheet at 28mm.

So we then printed out the sheets, took a nice think cardboard and sandwiched between the photo sheets. We tried pva but found pret sticks better for sticking them together. We then cut them out.

When doing this we also cut them out at different sizes , shapes in 2,'s  4s etc.

At this point you can stop...but you will notice that the cardboard edges pop out. So we decided to paint all the edges with rust.

28mm Stalingrad

The good thing about cardboard is that you can bend the edges to make it look better and run a rust line of paint along the bend line.

I think these will compliment our brick rubble very nicely.

This method could also be used for gamers that are into "junk yard" style games.

So we will post some pictures of Carronade and let people see the results. See the Stalingrad game report for more pictures.
