So here is a 2018 Christmas present... a Warlord plastic Russian KV2 and you get an extra turrent of KV1. So I 3d printed a chassis for the second turret.

Above the plastic kit painted.

The 3d printed chassis on the extra turret.

These could be featuring in the Stalingrad Factory game....check out Stalingrad...

28mm Stalingrad Targe 2018

Well we did it again....1st...Best in show taking home the Targe three years in a row. Also a 1st Best Terrain and a second for Demonstration game. A huge success. The show was great with lots of gamers now thinking of 3d prints..and more scenery!

It was great day....made special by a quote from a senior Kinniemuir club stating...."in my 55 years of gaming that's the best game I've ever seen". High praise indeed.

So this how the table looked and the start of play... and how it all unfolded.

It started with Russians in the factory hall and deployed at the outer ends  and Germans opposite in the factory workers housing.
The Winners...

In the picture above you can see the rail track separating the factory workers housing...with a gap the Germans having to "bridge the gap".Germans on the right Russians on the left.

As you can see the factory looks bombed out.

And if we look at black and white versions of these photos it gets more realistic...

In the picture above you can just see the a Russian anti tank gun (bottom end),  I placed one at the top of the board and one in the centre of the factory (3 in total). They are all supported by HMGs.

Above and below... bottom end of the mat ...(3d printed Russian anti tank gun).
The front line of the Russians. 3d printed anti tank gun. An MG position futher back.

As you can see the factory looks right  for something that has taken a pounding....bricks everywhere that have damaged walls!

The black and white adds character.

 Germans dig in....and prepare.

The Germans keep the housing buildings between their supply vehicles (Famo) and the enemy.

The Germans attack (bottom end) and surge forward across the tracks at the bottoman end of the table.
The Russian side open up (HMG and rifles) and the Germans take some hits...but press on.

One German manages to get across...

Gaz trucks and Russian tractors at the bottom of the factory.

The lower end... it now all gets down to hand to hand...on the left a Russian medic.

The top end sits quietly!
Inside (the long shot)!
Inside the Russian reserves run to the bottom end of the factory (seen just beyond the T34 turret on a overhead  red crane above a chassis). The a/t pointing to the bottom. On the right of the picture an engine sites chained on another crane.

The Russians position behind the entrance and between the lathes at the top.

At the centre Germans move forward.

 Casualties are given treatment.

A Nebelweffer hits the Gaz trucks (with Russians in the back).

Above ....The Germans at the lower end send in a second wave dash across.

Nice shot of the factory! That's two T34,s inside on the right.
If only we had engines in them! Another sits in the centre (below the red crane) waiting on the turret.

An German officer deploys his support team. and supported by a Pnz4 hit the centre again.

The middle and bottom ends get busy. We used the flags just to let people know who was where...

Enemy at the gates...above and below.

A lone Russian watches the Pz4 and troops advance. Its almost like the scene in Saving Private Ryan with the sniper in the tower!
HMG now deployed supports the crossing.

The hand to hand fighting brings causalities on both sides (at the bottom end).

28mm hand to hand
The Germans reach the top enterance.

Top end - 251 comes in as support.

The bottom entrance floods with Germans.

The Alamo...circle the wagons...err... we,ve only got one!

Lots of gamers liked the detail of the 3d lathes, cranes, mills all the printed vehicles (except a Pzr 3) etc.
I can see Santas "wish list" will have a 3d printer on it....for the lucky few.

EEk the PZ4s about to make a new doorway !

Printed T34 - get that turret on quick!

A 3d printed sdkfz 251 smashes its way through...I think this photo shows the brick rubble off well...

28mm factory
The Pnz4 smashes in and takes out the anti tank gun with its first shot. What a dice role!

KABOOM,,,!

The Russians are caught in a cross fire.

The Germans have taken the factory.

It  was a great day of gaming...the compliments from traders and gamers was great to hear... With cameras flashing and videos being shot all day we new we had got something right!

The build reports (also on the webpage) were printed out for gamers to read thru' and were well received. After the event some of the judges comments were very favourable "its absolutely fantastic - you deserved the win". .."clearly the winner".

One last thing ...Thanks to the guys and gals at Targe for organising the event.
